To load or replace the blade: unscrew the handle from the head by turning it counterclockwise. Insert the knife between the two parts that form the head. Screw everything back together. Tighten it. You will notice that the blade is curved: this is what we are looking for for a non-aggressive shave.

Shaving: Wait until the end of a shower so that your skin and hair become softer. Apply shaving cream, soap or oil. Apply short strokes while holding the razor at 30°. If it is your first time using a safety razor, we recommend that you apply absolutely no pressure and use only the weight of the razor. You will gradually learn how much pressure you can apply to get the perfect shave that suits your skin - but it will be much less pressure than what you are used to with a plastic razor. This is why we prefer to say "no pressure at all" for the first shave.

After shaving: pat your skin dry, rinse the razor under the water jet (with a little soap if you prefer) and let it dry outside the shower or water jet to get the most out of its lifespan. Keep it disassembled or do not leave a blade in for too long to avoid oxidation of the blade.

After shaving, rinse each area thoroughly inside and out to remove any shaving soap or hair. Loosen the handle slightly to allow water to flow all around the blade. Let both the razor and blade dry before reloading, or better yet, keep your razor disassembled or unloaded. Avoid leaving a dirty or damp blade in your razor as this will cause oxidation of the blade.

A Safety Razor can last a very long time if you take good care of it. It does not mean that it can withstand drops, shocks and abuse.

Depending on the color you choose, you will have different long-term results. The matte finishes (rose gold, black, white) are the softer coatings and are more likely to show wear over time. The rose gold and black finishes are made by electroplating, which means the color is fused to the metal and cannot chip, unlike the white which requires more TLC. The rose gold shade is made of copper which naturally tends to patina over time. The chrome finish is harder and therefore generally more resilient. However, these are all questions of aesthetics and do not affect the operation of your shaver.
